Join us and Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum for Wild Encounters on the Porch: Second Saturdays, a special monthly program where Zoo educators take amazing animals and nature lessons to the PlayHouse!

Happening every second Saturday from May through September, a new topic highlights an exciting animal group or environmental theme through up-close animal presentations, fun facts, hands-on activities, and nature-themed crafts where educators from Peoria Zoo take the wonders of wildlife to the Peoria PlayHouse! All ages welcome–perfect for curious kids and families.

Meet ambassador animals, make fun projects, and explore the living world around us!

• May 9 – Songbirds: Learn about bird calls and make your own feathered friend!

• August 8 – Turtles: Get the facts on these slow-moving, shell-tastic reptiles.
• September 12 – Bat Boxes: Explore the benefits of bast and how to help them thrive.
