About the Mission Fund
The Peoria Zoological Society is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting and realizing the vision Peoria Zoo. We ask that you support us today with a tax-deductible gift.
Every gift you make of $25 or more will enter you in a chance to win your own personal parking spot right outside the Zoo main entrance. The more you donate, the more times your name will be entered!
About the Conservation Fund
Conservation is the heart of Peoria Zoo’s mission and we believe that partnerships with other organizations are critical to fulfilling the mission. Currently, we are proud to support the following conservation organizations: Peoria Zoo Green Team, Heart of Illinois American Association of ZooKeepers, Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Tiger Conservation Campaign, Turtle Survival Alliance, International Rhino Foundation and more.
Peoria Zoo’s local conservation efforts have been focused on the recovery of the Alligator Snapping Turtle. Peoria Zoo partnered with Illinois DNR in 2008 and we have been working to reintroduce the native Alligator snapping turtle to strategic watersheds in Illinois in an effort to restore this unique and majestic reptile.
Peoria Zoo is a cooperating member of AZA SAFE’s Species Survival Plan (SSP). The mission of an AZA SAFE Species Survival Plan® (SSP) Program is to cooperatively manage specific, and typically threatened or endangered, species population within AZA accredited Zoos and Aquariums. Support Peoria Zoo’s Enrichment Program with a gift to your favorite Zoo residents.
Select and item from our tree and purchase directly and deliver your gift to the zoo Yourself or have your items shipped right to the Zoo. Your generous gift will be used as “BEEP item” in our Behavioral Enrichment and Enhancement Program.
